3 Skincare Brands To Take Note Of

I’ll be honest, I don’t usually talk skincare. Not because I don’t take care of my skin (that would be tragic) but I’m definitely more well-versed in the makeup area. Then again, they do kind of go hand in hand, don’t they?

So, I’ve put together this roundup for you to get well-informed, but also as an exercise for me to discover and explore some brands that can get me started on my journey to becoming skincare-savvy. You might know some of these more than others, but they’re all definitely worth checking out.

1. Glossier

Now here’s a brand I’ve seen all over social media lately, so you know it HAS to be good. Glossier was actually created by the beauty editors (yay!) of IntoTheGloss, a beauty blog that I happen to be fan of and that you should also definitely take a look at (and who you should follow on Instagram for never-ending beauty inspo).

What I love most about Glossier is the fact that they’re firm believers in skincare being essential for any person’s beauty routine, and that at the end of the day, makeup is optional*.

Some of their skin care products, like their Milky Jelly Cleanser, are already being sworn by; so in conclusion, I really can’t wait to get my hands on this stuff.

*But don’t worry; they do also have a makeup line for you to try out!

2. Meow Meow Tweet

If you yearn to take care of the planet as much as you do your skin, then Meow Meow Tweet is definitely for you. Besides using only natural and organic ingredients for their products, they make an effort not to use plastic in their packaging and utilize recycled paper and glass containers instead. Plus, the designs are super cute! They even have a whole body care line which includes deodorant sticks (don’t mind if I do) and everything is super affordable.

3. Basin

Imagine a-slightly-more-affordable version of Lush and you're conjuring up Basin. As a happy owner of several of their products—including their Vanilla Lip Scrub, which I use to exfoliate my lips after I use matte lipsticks.

It leaves them feeling extremely moisturized and they’re edible so you can lick them off!

I also recommend their body scrubs; the softness they deliver after each use is out of this world! I like to wash my hands with their lavender shea salt scrub when they’re feeling especially rough and dry and it works like a charm. But if I haven’t convinced you yet, do know that they’re paraben, alcohol, mineral oil and cruelty-free!

As if I didn’t’ already have an extremely long wish list for makeup, now I have to make one for skincare too. Oh well, I won’t complain! What are your favorite skincare brands? Let me know via Twitter and Instagram!
