3 Uber-Polished Hairstyles That You Can Do In A Minute Flat
It’s going to be a beautiful day! You're super well-rested, scheduled some extra time to stop for coffee and the alarm hasn’t even gone off yet. Wait...the alarm hasn’t gone off yet?
Wait—what time does that clock say?!
So you seem to have gotten yourself into a bit of a situation. No biggie—we’ve all been there.
Here are three different hairstyles that will keep you looking uber-polished, even when you only have a panicked 60 seconds to spare.
The Figure 8
Step 1: Create a ponytail and secure. The ponytail will be the bottom of your 8, so keep that in mind when placing it.
Step 2: Create a bun by twisting the ponytail in one direction until it begins to coil and secure with a hair-elastic. The bun doesn’t need to look perfect, just make sure that you’ve twisted the hair enough that it’s secure.
Step 3: At the bottom of the bun, take the top coiled section and pull it up towards the top of your head. You should see the "8" appear. Secure with bobby pins.
This style is a super cute, half-up version of the Figure 8 above. But, this time we’re going to make it a horizontal mini-bow!
Step 1: Section half of your hair by putting a thumb at each ear and pushing them back until they meet at the center of your head. Now, before you use a hair-elastic, you want to pull this hair a little bit to one side.
Step 2: Create a mini-bun with the previously secured portion of the hair.
Step 3: Now I went a little to the left when creating my bun, so I will be taking the section of bun which is closest to my left ear. Pull that section towards the opposite ear and you should see a mini-bow shape appear. Secure with bobby pins.
The Graceful Twisted Side-Bun
Step 1: Take a section of hair by your ear (I prefer to start by my left ear)
Step 2: Roll that section up towards the top of your head.
Step 3: Going from left to right, take the next available section of hair underneath the roll you just created and incorporate it by twisting the two sections of hair together. Continue grabbing the next available section of hair and twisting, until you make your way to the right side of your head. Once you’ve twisted as far as you can go, twist in any excess hair and secure the twist into a low side-ponytail.
Step 4: Twist the ponytail until a bun is formed and secure.
Step 5: (Optional) Add a flower or bow. A version of the large feather flower clip with ostrich feathers and rhinestones pictured above can be found at Icing for just under $15.
