A Very Retro Makeup Roundup

A Very Retro Makeup Roundup

One of the many reasons I love makeup so much is because of the way it evolves through time. Trends have come and gone for centuries and some of them are so iconic, they become representative of the era they belong to.

Buckle up everyone, because we’re going to be doing some serious time travelling by taking a look at some "retro"-inspired makeup creations.

1. @nika.soul

First of all, that victory roll brings me right back to the pin up hair article I did some time ago. But right now we’re focusing on makeup and this lovely lady pulls off that characteristic sharp liner and rosy cheeks look quite perfectly.

2. @karlacuahontemakeup

Check out this "Old Hollywood" look! Those black lips and thin brows are giving me strong film noir vibes. Magnificant.

3. @isabelk_mua

Loving that defined cut crease and wispy lashes, so reminiscent of the 60s. Feels like I’m looking at a real editorial from the decade! Amazing job by Bel Cosmétiques owner Isabel!

4. @makeup_yasmineebeid

Embracing all things eighties with that vibrant neon eyeshadow, glitter and bright pink lips. Kind of wish this look was still socially acceptable, to be honest.

5. @the.beauty.bunny

The Beauty Bunny looks like she just came straight out of a late 90s music video. If we could all rock it like this, it might’ve just stuck around for a few more decades!

Well that was a fun one, wasn’t it? What’s your favorite makeup era? Let me know by heading over to Twitter or Instagram.
