Beauty Dip 5/14-5/21
Oh, hello! This week, the beauty world was "fairy" intense. ICYMI, makeup artists everywhere have been gearing up for first challenge of the NYX FACE Awards and they picked my absolute favorite theme ever—fairy tales! As an amateur mermaid myself, I’ve been fascinated by the whimsical designs, so you can check them out for yourself at #nyxfaceawards. After that, come back here and see the rest of this week's hot beauty news items.
Instagrammer @nataliesmakeup is currently in the midst of a Disney princess-inspired series of eye makeup routines and they’re “quite a glittering assemblage,” as Maleficent would put it.
Speaking of fairy-esque cosmetic looks, here is a good one from Sarocha B. Technically, it is a few weeks old and is geared towards festivals, but I think it deserves to be worn as frequently as possible. Don't you?
Contouring is all the rage right now and though we do love it, it’s getting pretty out of hand—remember the leg contouring video? So, in light of the contour craze, Australian beauty blogger/YouTuber Chloe Morello has made a hilarious parody full-body contour video and you need to watch it, like, now. Jaclyn Hill is the shimmering goddess of makeup, but why does this goddess want us to wait forreeevvverr for her new makeup line? While you twiddle your thumbs, get a sneak peek by reading this piece from Allure.
Major shade alert! BUZZNET covers the latest round of Jeffree Star VS. Kylie Jenner drama. All I’m getting from this fighting is that he’s high-maintenance/promoting his stuff by throwing hers under the bus and she’s overcharging for half-decent makeup? Oh well, we’ll let them hash it out. Again.
Everyone is talking about 17-year-old Instagram star Annelies van Overbeek and her ability to transform herself using makeup and styling tricks, including us, which is why we interviewed her! She is seriously talented.
