Double French Braids VS. Single Fishtail Braids: A Play-By-Play
Have you ever woken up and felt bogged down by laziness, but not to the degree where you COMPLETELY give up on trying to look presentable?
Me too. Which is why I am frequently torn between two super-trendy braid styles these days.
In fact, my adoration of double french braids and single fishtail braids has me bouncing back between the two of them practically every morning, desperately trying to decide which one to go with.
I took to Instagram and selected four (okay, five, I popped in a bonus one) inspirational pictures in the hopes that this effort would help me decide once and for all which braid reigns supreme.
Double French Braids
These braids on this self-taught makeup artist showcase how face-framing this style can be. It's like a frame for a great makeup look. Decisions, decisions!
Here's the extra one. This snap proves that this look can be as flattering on men as it is on women. I'm not a man, but I just wanted to encourage more people in the world to rock this look. Spread the word!
Fish Tail Braid
@twintresses' fishtail braids are to die for! The braids are loose and still look fabulous. The flowers add a nice festival-appropriate touch and make the braids totally boho-chic.
And the winner is...
I may have fallen in love with many double french braids and single fish tail braids while I was poking around and deliberating, but I have to declare single fishtail braids the winner.
Not only are they super versatile in the sense that they can be done up or done down (fancy or uber-chill), they also can be easily adorned with accessories. In fact, the floral crowns on the last entry are what swayed me towards my final choice.
This is not to say that I will completely abandon double french braids, of course, but I will definitely be sticking with fishtail braids as my go-to style for the time being.
