Empties: When Sh*t Hits The Pan
Miranda recently stirred up a conversation, asking which products we have all used up to the last drop (or brush swirl). She said that she had a few favorites and that she'd love to know which beauty buys we had adored to the point of hitting the pan. And she thought you'd be interested in this too, so here we are.
Here are the products are few of us can't seem to live without. And we are starting with Miranda, since this piece was all her idea....
"I finished every last bit of Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. I got it one shade lighter than usual and used it as an under eye concealer/highlight. You can thin it out by mixing it with an eye cream or go super full coverage. Definitely going to repurchase this one.
Next up, the Batiste Dry Shampoo In Cherry. It's my all-time favorite dry shampoo. It was always a total life saver if I didn’t have time to wash my hair before running out the door. Other dry shampoos smell super overbearing and perfume-y, but this one smells like sweet cherries and doesn’t clash with my every day fragrance.
I also bought the three pack of ChapStick® in Cake Batter and I used up every single one and then bought another pack. They’re the yummiest lip product ever and the only thing more fabulous than the flavor is the price point (under $5!!!).
"I am very set in my ways when it comes to beauty routines, which means that when it comes to incorporating new products, I'm extremely persnickety. I'm also allergic to everything, but I digress. My latest batch of "empties" include E.L.F.'s All Over Color Stick, CVS' Charcoal & Black Sugar Dual-Action Scrub Facial Mask (which I am squeezing every last drop out of) and JĀSÖN®'s Purifying Tea Tree Body Wash.
I am ashamed to admit that I have never "literally hit the pan" on a makeup product before, though I have poked myself in the eye pretty badly with a then-beloved eyelash curler that I really didn't want to part with."
"Mine is a beauty favorite among many makeup artists. Can you take a guess? This spray is a necessity in my makeup routine. My guilty obsession; it’s the Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs And Rosewater.
My skin is on the combo oily type so I am a little picky when it comes to choosing moisturizing products. It's tricky to keep your skin fresh, moisturized and rejuvenated, but this does the job!
From the lovely scent to the affordable price tag, I'm obsessed. I always spritz this onto my face after a shower or before applying makeup. And I'd be lying if I said I didn’t spray this throughout the day for a pick-me-up."
"I've re-bought Benefit's Hoola Matte Bronzer countless times because it works well on my fair complexion and, unlike a lot of others, it can be used for contouring or getting that, "I just got back from Tulum, ask me about my tan" glow.
Some things are popular for a reason, am I right? And Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector® Liquid Highlighter has earned it's cult-favorite status by being incredibly pigmented and easy-to-apply; I haven't yet met its equal.
Super creamy and thick, Tarte's maracuja creaseless concealer is hyper-brightening, which is great for those doubleheader party weekends where you're in need of a little extra help. Pro tip: be sure to set it with a translucent powder to ensure it stays in place all day!
