Eyeliners: The Darker, The Better (Or So I Thought)
I don’t know about you but I can’t live without my eyeliner. As a matter of fact, it was the first makeup item that I purchased at my local drugstore at the age of 15.
But how did I use to use my eyeliner, you may be wondering? I was always under the impression that more is better, as I’m sure all of you lovelies were when you started wearing makeup. Yikes.
As I matured, so did my taste in beauty and how I wore my makeup. So, without further ado, I’d like to take you down memory lane and present my favorite eyeliners throughout the years that kept me feeling the most fabulous.
What would have been of my high school years if it wasn’t for my Wet n Wild eyeliner pencil? It was my go-to eye pencil up until high school graduation! To be honest, what is not to love about a kohl based pencil for your waterline area? I was mostly besotted with this eyeliner due to two reasons. One, it was easy to apply and two, it was only 89 cents at the time. Downside—it didn’t last long enough for my taste, so I had to reapply 3 times a day. Mind you, this was pre-Youtube and this brand's longwear eyeliner.
2. Revlon Luxurious Color Kohl Eyeliner
I adored this eyeliner and occasionally still buy it when I’m far away from my current eyeliner provider. I would get this eyeliner in the color brown. I learned that black eyeliner should be used when you have darker eye and hair color. What I liked about this one is that it was not as harsh-looking as my black one and it stayed on longer.
One of my former coworkers actually introduced me to what is now my favorite eyeliner. If you want to achieve a natural look with this bad boy, I suggest you go soft on your stroke since it is very well pigmented and goes on thick. A major plus is that it last 6 hours on my waterline; almost as long as my work day lasted. I scoop it up in Teddy and Smolder.
So, what are your thoughts on eyeliners? What’s your go to makeup item?
