Flip Nails: Twice The Fun
I have a new nail obsession (and accompanying skill set) that I’m still working on mastering: flip nails. Just like the cuticle décor that I recently wrote about, flip nails are also playing up a majorly overlooked section of the nail. Flip nails are like hidden gems found on the underside of your nails. You can coordinate them with your regular manicure or you can add something totally different underneath!
Here are a few examples of flip nails that I’m LOVING.
Flip nails are super fun and they let you do all kinds of looks and nail design experiments! I love the red glitter @cjpnailsystemsjem used to spice up her nail look! The glitter red hearts on the top side of the nail are perfectly coordinated with the red glitter underneath. This is a great way of getting a glitter-fix, without going overboard!
Red and gold are one of my favorite color combos, especially for nails! This look created by @mymintynails is freakin’ adorable. The gold polish on the underside of these nails is perfection and totally pulls the whole look together. This is a great example of how to use the underside of your nails to accentuate a look that’s going on up top.
These spring time green nails by @miss.happy.and.her.nails are amazing. The amount of detail put on the underside of this manicure is so cool and the vines are so nicely detailed that it looks like they could’ve been stamped on. This is a great example of doing something a little different on your flip nails, a great mix of super sparkly fun glitter on top and elegant vines on the bottom.
I’ll definitely be practicing and working hard to recreate these awesome flip-nail looks. I gave it a try this week and this simple looking nail trend is a little more difficult than it looks, but practice makes perfect, right?
