Found: Anthropologie’s Hidden Vanilla Gem
I consider myself to be something of a vanilla connoisseur. If there’s a vanilla product within 50 feet of me, I’ve probably smelled, sampled or eaten it. My goal in life was to smell like a delicious vanilla bakery 24/7, a dream I’ve recognized, thanks to a hidden gem at Anthropologie.
When you think of fragrances, you probably don’t think of Anthropologie or of something that is under $20 a bottle, but the Outremer Eau De Toilette in Vanille is delicious perfection in spray form.
Now if you think I’m exaggerating about my love for this fragrance, I can honestly tell you I have 3 empty bottles of this in my bathroom. I spray it on myself all day every day. I even bought the mini-version they sell in stores for my purse.
This goes on my pulse points, in my hair and I could probably water it down and spray it all over my closet like they do at Abercrombie…But luckily I haven’t gone full crazy yet.
Despite my love for vanilla, I find a lot of vanilla fragrances are immature, artificial or sharp smelling.
The Outremer Eau De Toilette in Vanille is certainly a strong vanilla scent (I get compared to cupcakes all the time), but it is also warm and surprisingly sophisticated. I wouldn’t say it has smoky qualities, but something about it smells like it’s been baked in the oven at 375 degrees.
It’s incredibly inviting and I find that no matter how much I spray on myself, people never get overwhelmed by the scent and always want to know where it’s from.
If you’re looking for a fragrance to give for the holidays, this is it. And the best part is, no one will ever know that this beautifully packaged fragrance cost you less than $20.
