How To Make Peepers Pop: Glasses Edition
I’m just going to come right out and say it—my vision is TERRIBLE! It could be related to all the books I read “in the dark” when I was a kid, or genetics, even though my parents swear it’s not their fault. I started wearing glasses when I was 6 and have been an active wearer of contacts since I was maybe 18.
What’s worse is when I started wearing makeup, I had to figure out how to do my eye makeup when the whole world was a blur and come up with look that worked behind lenses.
I finally did though, so here are my three go-to glasses-tested looks.
1. Winged Liner + Defined Brows
For my everyday makeup, I always go with winged liner. It’s kinda my signature makeup "thing" actually.
Because of my not-so-great vision, I have to use a magnifying mirror and basically stick my whole face into it to make sure those wings are sharp. My favorite liner is Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liner (which ultimately was named the winner in Leanna's Drawing the Line Between Dupe & The Real Deal: Eyeliner Edition).
This liner is seriously the only thing I use! Next are brows. For the sake of my sanity, I always go for a brow pencil like Brow Wiz® from Anastasia Beverly Hills to fill, especially when I am wearing glasses. It’s not as easy for me to mess up my brows and makes them looked naturally fuller.
2. Wispy Lashes
False lashes are not the best idea when you’re donning glasses, but it doesn’t mean you can’t show your lashes off! My favorite mascara to get my lashes to the next level is tarte cosmetic lights, camera, flashes™ statement mascara.
It gives you crazy volume and has a comb on a section of the brush to separate any accidental clumps, making it ideal for bottom lashes!
Because I’m sleep-deprived most of the time, I apply concealer on my lid and undereye area to cover thoooose circles. Be sure to clean up any mascara splotches with a cotton swab and some eye makeup remover!
Might as well embrace the glasses as a part of who you are. Sometimes, you don’t need anything other than being comfortable in the skin you’re in. Go ahead and rock that natural look girl. Own it!
