How To Wear Fuchsia Lips To Work
It’s time to break out those glorious, bright lipsticks that have been hiding in your makeup bag since you bought them.
Fuchsia is one of my favorite colors for the summer, because it’s bright, sunny and it doesn’t seem quite right in any other season. It’s the perfect summer counterpart to the copious collection of dark, startling colors I wear in the fall and winter.
But, if you’re like me and you work in an office, the thought of wearing such a bold color can seem quite daunting. Fuchsia, depending how it’s worn, can strike a delicate balance between night-out fun and HR-approved appropriate-ness.
I have to say that the NYC lip stain lasted far longer than I had anticipated. It actually lasted all day and I only reapplied to ensure that it looked perfect, not because I actually needed to. In order to make this look work for my job, I paired this with a very subtle cat eye, subtle contour and no highlighter.
That way, my lips stood in the spotlight of my make-up and the rest of my face didn’t come off as overbearing. Then for my outfit, I kept to neutral colors (mine happened to be black and grey) and very little jewelry.
But the real secret to rocking bright lips at work is... keeping everything else toned-down. Let your lips hog the limelight, you know?
