Let's Make This A Thing: Metallic Blush

Let's Make This A Thing: Metallic Blush

Metallic are far from a new concept in the makeup realm (we have already highlighted metallic product picks for lips and eyelids), but why limit yourself when you can dust metallic sheen onto your cheekbones too?

Oddly enough, beauty brands don't seem to have embraced the concept of "metallic blush" just yet, though a couple of companies have pioneered metallic highlighter.

While you could twiddle your thumbs and wait for this dream to come to fruition, you can also think out the box and use one of the following three products to achieve something of a similar look.

For the best results, we recommend mixing a few pinches of a given shadow with a sprinkle of your choice of blush and dabbing on this mixture. Word of warning though; you might want to do a super-thorough scrubbing afterwards; eyeshadow isn't necessarily formulated to be worn on your cheeks.

MBA CosmeticsTwinkle FX Eyeshadow In Pharoah's Gold

This glittering gold shadow is high-pigmented, pretty and uber-stellar. In other words, it's the perfect way to add some gold to your makeup look (and if you are really into chasing a flaxen glow, hop over and skim this oldie but goodie from Shriya).

Go Naturelle's Mineral Highlights Glow Collection In Jellyfish

This pearl-esque metallic powder is damn delightful. Try it out, on your cheeks and on your lids. It's supreme.

PS: Since we are on the topic on metallics, we highly recommend that you take a peek at this brand's Antique Metallic Collection!

Nicolet Beauty's DEVRON Doublestar Metallic Eyeshadow

A tantalizing taupe hue with a hint of metallic shine, this shadow will add a bit of oomph to any blush, guaranteed. It is definitely a bit less "out there" than the previous two options, so if you are having your doubts about donning metallic blush, this can ease you into the idea.

Also, everything from this brand is vegan and not tested on animals, which is a big plus in our book.

More on this soon-to-be trend will be showing up here soon, so stay tuned. Oh and not to spoil any surprises, but we might have something in the works on this front. EXCITING TIMES.
