Obsessions & Eyeliner: Oxford Basil

Oxford Basil (A.K.A) Anthony is a hyper-stylish, fantastically talented writer who shares his musings with the world via My Little Obsessions.

He is also passionate about makeup, so we immediately seized the opportunity to chat with him. Duh.

How did you decide upon the social media moniker "Oxford Basil"?

At the time I created it, I was in my junior year of high school; I was obsessed with Oxford shoes and I also had a lemon basil plant. It didn't survive long though.

When I created my Twitter account back in 2011, I put the two together and boom—"Oxford Basil". I thought it sounded good and the rest is history.

What are your "biggest" little obsessions?

My boyfriend Kev, my two dogs, ringlight and my Carli Bybel eyeshadow highlighter palette!

Why do you adore makeup?

I've only been doing makeup for two years now and I love that I always feel good while doing it.

It's fun painting on a new face all the time, trying new things and just feeling beautiful while doing it.

Tell us about your all-time favorite makeup looks!

My all-time favorite makeup look that I've done on myself would have to be my pink Valentine's Day look.

I loved it because that was my first time trying a themed makeup look. The pink brows and freckles really made the look super "put together".

Another one of my favorites was a recent look that I created with my Morphe 35S Palette. It was a yellow/orange shimmery look with white eyeliner to open up my eyes. I then added long lashes to balance out the eyeshadow. The whole look is super soft with a bold lip, thanks to NYX's Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Club Hopper.

What is next for you?

I'm super excited for this year because it is filled with tons of opportunities. I even recently collaborated with Marie Sky World to create a lipstick!
