Ocean-Sourced Beauty: Seacreme's Jane + Laura Healy
Run by a mother-daughter duo, Seacreme is an England-based company that develops and distributes sea mineral-based products.
Always intrigued by innovative inspirations, we sat down with Seacreme's Jane and Laura to get a better sense of what they are all about.
Can you tell us a bit about the origins of Seacreme?
Seacreme was founded following a childhood accident which resulted in 75% third degree burns to (CEO) Jane's body. Jane was very fortunate to have parents who took her to the sea following each operation. It was always the sea that made Jane feel good both physically and mentally.
Throughout Jane's life, this has always been the case and a lifelong relationship with the sea formed. Jane began looking for other similar products with sea salt/sea minerals in them and realized there was mostly dead sea products which wasn't quite what Jane was hoping to source. Jane's last operation a few years ago served as a catalyst for her to embark on the Seacreme journey.
How would you describe Seacreme's overall attitude toward philosophy regarding beauty?
Seacreme's philosophy is all about creating beautiful, luxury products with the natural powers of the sea harnessing all aspects of our products. We would like to think we are as natural as possible in our attitude with our products, which contain no artificial chemicals or parabens, just lots of lovely extras to really bring to the market; a luxury sea mineral range. We call it our "Passion In A Pot".
What is the most rewarding component of the creating-a-beauty product process?
This most definitely has to be the ability to share our knowledge, put in a pot and share it with others. To watch our customer's beauty regimes change and develop with Seacreme being at the heart of this. It's not all about financial reward, but as much benefiting and changing people's lives is very satisfying .
Anything else you'd like to add?
We'd love to be able to develop Seacreme further and expand our market worldwide, and this is something we are currently looking in to. This is an exciting time for Seacreme as we further develop our product range, with a hand cream due for release later this year!
