Plush Crush: Velvet Report's Lindsey Arnold
Velvet Report is a fantastic site that aims to "move the world towards a cruelty-free future, free of animal suffering". Oh and their beauty sets are superb.
Founder Lindsey Arnold also dishes about beauty, fashion and vegan must-knows. She also recently answered a few of our questions!
What inspired you to begin living a vegan (and cruelty-free) lifestyle?
I was drawn to veganism from a young age due to my love of animals but it wasn't until I was 14 that I started living a vegan lifestyle. Even though it was a challenge over the years to maintain my veganism, I always came back to it because it's something that I always felt was right.
We just adore the name "Velvet Report"! Why did you choose it?
When thinking of a name for my company, I wanted something that would represent its values. "V" stands for vegan, "E" for ethical, "L" for luxury, and "VET" for vetted. Also "REPORT" stands for the research done on each product and on the blog.
Besides Micellar Water, how do you pamper your skin?
I use face masks a few times a week. My favorites are gentle clay masks with rose that detoxify your skin while also providing hydration. I also love taking baths and slathering my body and face in luxurious oils.
Are there any beauty brands that you just think EVERYONE should know about?
I think everyone should know about the amazing new vegan and nontoxic color cosmetic products that are hitting the market. Two of my favorites are Axiology lipsticks and Antonym Cosmetics eyeshadows, both of which are included in my Vegan Makeup Starter Kit.
