Praise Tea Tree Oil: An Ode

Praise Tea Tree Oil: An Ode

Tea Tree oil is THE oil of all oils. If you’re an avid tea tree oil user, you know what I’m talking about. It is hands down the most useful oil out there. It smells great too!

So, what is it? Tea tree oil comes from the leaves of a tea tree (duh), which grow on the swampy coasts of Australia. The magic oil’s most popular use is for acne.

Applying tea tree oil to a newly-formed pimple before bed will allow it to be absorbed in the skin and...the next morning, the blemish will be much, much smaller and easier to deal with.

Personally, I apply tea tree oil all over my face. When doing so, I make sure to apply a moisturizer beforehand (almost like a base coat). If you apply tea tree oil to the face without a base coast of moisturizer, your face tends to burn/tingle... I learned this the hard way.

I usually lather my face in coconut oil and then apply the oil. For years, I’ve struggled with cystic acne and this is by far the best and most effective treatment! Even if my face is clear, I’ll use tea tree oil as a preventative measure.

Tea tree oil can also be used as hand sanitizer, a natural deodorant, antiseptic for minor cuts, insect repellent and as a natural cleaning solution. Can you think of another oil that does all those things?! Again, it’s magic.

You can purchase tea tree oil at basically any drug or grocery store. I get mine at Trader Joe's for less than five dollars.
