Primers + Setting Spray: Necessary Evils
I’ll admit it; I resent the idea of having to add even more steps into my makeup routine. It's time-consuming enough as it is and I worry about piling on way too much product and looking like a mess... But there are two things that everyone should be adding to their getting-ready to-do list: prime and set.
She expressed the importance of not just applying primer on the face but to use an eye primer too. I never thought that I would be able to come home from a night out and look in the mirror and still see perfectly applied makeup. My smoky eye (which took way longer to perfect than I’d care to admit) no longer seeps under my eye and my eyeshadow doesn’t smear or sweat off.
However, my real secret weapon was a last-minute Sephora buy. I had heard about this product a LOT—and it has popped up in a few lovelierie pieces—but I actually became a convert of this product after buying a sample sized version.
Use this by spritzing it onto your made-up face and allow this magical mist to do its thing. Seriously, it’s a little more expensive than you’d expect but it works WONDERS.
Much in the same way that I’d never leave the house without a pump of my favorite scent, you won’t catch me leave the house without a good dose of my favorite setting spray! Oh and as makeup artists never tire of saying, always remember that, “it should be a crime not to prime.”
There you have it. Prime and set. Easy steps to ensure that your dutifully-applied makeup look stays put.
