Put To The Test: The Andrea Perma Lash Starter Kit (Part One)

Put To The Test: The Andrea Perma Lash Starter Kit (Part One)

Lash extensions are all the rage these days and it isn't hard to figure out why. Rocking lash extensions means that you can cut down on your morning prep time without sacrificing glam-ness.

But, with a whopping $200 price tag for the initial full set of lash extensions and a $90 refill session every 3-4 weeks, this craze is not for the faint of heart—or wallet.

If you are toying with the idea of taking this lash leap, join me in my journey as I try out a $12 alternative from Sally Beauty Supply first.

Say hello to the Andrea Perma Lash Starter Kit

This kit comes with short, medium and long individual false lashes, tweezers, a vial of semi-permanent lash glue and the liquid lash remover. This lash extension alternative claims to give a fully customizable lash look that lasts up to six weeks.

Here is a before (left) + after (right) picture for reference:

Day One

Step 1: Remove any eye makeup with an oil-free cleanser and pat the area dry with a washcloth.

Step 2: Create your own customized lash look by using a combination of the three provided lengths. Lay them out on top of your natural lashes without glue, to get an idea of what you want them to look like.

Step 3: Pour a small amount of lash glue onto to a palette or a piece of tin foil. This stuff dries quickly, so work in small amounts.

Step 4: Use the provided tweezers to hold just above the base of the individual lash and apply a small amount of the semi-permanent lash glue to the base.

Step 5: Apply the individual lash directly on top of your natural lashes. Apply as close to the lash line as possible, while making sure that you do not get the product into the eyes or in contact with the skin.

Step 6: While applying these lashes, I found that they were most secure when I squeezed them lightly at the base of the lash with the tweezers immediately after applying them.

Overall, my first impression of the Andrea Perma Lash Starter Kit is a very positive one. If you have experience applying false lashes, you should have no problem using this kit. The entire application process took me about 30 minutes.

The kit really allows you to achieve great length and drama. I was able to create my somewhat subtle, "everyday" lash look by using a single short-length lash near the center of the eye and 8 medium-length lashes towards the outer edge.

If you want to go ALL out in the drama department, add a few of the longer-length lashes to the very outer edge of the eye.

Curious to see if the six week claim holds true? Want to know how easy these lashes are to remove? Stay tuned for my full review and follow lovelierie on Instagram to see if these lashes really pass the test.
