So Down: Beauty Trends On My Radar
Trends are fickle entities, whisked away at the slightest breath of each new season—but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t attempt try at least a few while they linger. Here are some trends I’ve decided that I actually need in my life.
I adore unnatural shades, especially when they come together in beautiful matrimony. I’ve promised myself that some day I’ll have the guts to do something like this (which was shared by @lalasupdos) to my hair—maybe even with the charms woven in? Until then, I’m but a faithful admirer.
Brushed Up Brows
In middle school I was made fun of for my ultra-thick brows, but oh, how the tables have turned in the past few years. Still, to achieve that Cara Delevingne-look I’ve had to fill them in heavily because my brows are ash-blonde. I’d love to try out this more natural look just because it’s easy (literally just brush up your brows with gel) yet simultaneously edgy. It’d definitely save me some time in the morning if I abandoned my current intensive brow routine. Thanks for the inspiration, clairenisbetmakeup_artist_!
Red Eye Shadow
Um...how beautiful is this snap from jkissamakeup? This burgundy shade with bold lips, or possibly even coupled with the more natural look that’s trending? Sounds super grunge and I’m down to give it a go. The question is, will I end up looking fabulous or like I’m coming down with the flu? Only time and—possibly the stares of strangers—will tell.
Having already rocked the side-nose hoop for five years straight, I feel it may be time to move on and see other piercings. The septum piercing has taken center-stage on the trend scene and it’s been written on my wish list for a while. I especially like this when it is coupled with the stud on the side. Such simple aesthetic excellence. Even as a stand-alone statement though (like it is here on the lovely @esmeconte), I adore it.
Make sure to follow me on Instagram to check out the trends I end up trying on for size. Later, lovelies!
