Tested With Love: Lunasea Botanicals Tea Tree & Honey Face Scrub + Mask
By now, all of you know how addicted I am to skincare. I have a whole tower in my room filled with all sorts of products. However, I am always on the hunt for a mask that really, really works. When I got the chance to review the Tea Tree and Honey Face Scrub and Mask from the Lunasea Botanicals Etsy shop, let’s just say I was pumped.
A little background on my skin… I have sensitive combination skin that gets more oily in the T-zone during the summer months. I don’t break out except for around that time of the month and it’s usually only one or two gnarly pimples that hurt like hell and that’s about it. I do suffer from acne scarring and a little hyperpigmentation but that’s about the extent of it.
Here’s the (post-workout!) before pic:
I washed my face and jumped in the shower before I did the mask. Whenever you do a mask and want the most out of it, jump in the shower. The steam can help prep your skin for the upcoming pampering.
The product works for a lot of skin issues that people want to target. Deep pore cleansing, soothing and conditioning! Its primary ingredients are tea tree, white willow bark and raw honey. What I love most though is the fact that the product is handmade; there was definitely a lot of care and love put into this powerful mask.
Right out of the package, the product was nice and creamy and went on very smoothly. It smells just like tea tree oil and had a bit of a spicy note to it. The smell wasn’t overpowering though. I usually apply face masks with an inexpensive foundation brush, but I couldn’t find it in this case and just used my fingers instead.
I love products that I can feel working. At first I was all like “oh I don’t feel anything!” the next, my skin felt like it was on fire for a couple minutes. I don’t mind the tingling and burning sensation of products but if you are super sensitive or don’t like that sort of sensation, I would say this might not be the product for you.
It felt so good that I left it on for about 20 minutes (suggested usage states to leave it on for 10 minutes). I then rinsed with warm water and started to work the mask into my skin just like you would normally wash your face. Be sure to follow-up this up with some serum and moisturizer!
Anyway, when all was said and done, my skin felt so refreshed and clean! I was worried about it making my skin feel dry and tight but that definitely was not the case. My skin was smooth and almost glowing. Despite all the tingling, my skin wasn’t red in the least bit and felt super revitalized, like I just came back from a facial at a spa. Definitely a new favorite mask to add to my collection! Thanks for the bomb-ass mask, Lunasea Botancials. You definitely have a new fan!
