Tested With Love: Touch Me Skincare Body Butter
Touch Me Skincare is an all-natural, vegan, cruelty-free, chemical-free line developed by Maheen Lemon. Her products have organic ingredients that you can actually read and identify without any furrowed brows.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on their 100% handmade 4 oz body butter in the scent, "Drunk on Wine."
The ingredients include raw shea butter, non-GMO coconut oil, an essential oil blend and aloe vera. This product is actually available in both a "winter" and "summer" formula. Each version has a $16.99 price tag.
After using this product for two weeks, here are my thoughts.
The first thing that hit me when I opened this product was the scent. The scent is described as a black cherry merlot undercurrent, which really isn't my cup of tea. It was initially intense and made me worry about actually using this product since it made me a tad queasy.
Luckily, the scent isn’t as strong after it is applied to the skin. That said, I do think it is important to note that scent preference is a very personal thing (which is a sentiment that Nila echoed in Six Days In A Stranger's Shower) and I actually do not like the taste or smell of alcohol.
The product itself has a very thick formula. Typically, when thinking of a body butter, the first thought that comes to my mind is The Body Shop's body butter, which has a very whipped and light formula. This body butter is more comparable to the Nivea Essentially Enriched Body Lotion but it is even thicker than that formula.
Due to the intense thickness of this product, I love it for spot hydrating places such as my incredibly dry knees and elbows. You can use it all over as well but it was tougher for me to rub in in larger areas. Either way you choose to use it, make sure to warm it up by rubbing it between your hands before applying it.
Another thing I liked was that it gave me a major glow! I always love when my skin looks healthier and amazing in photos without any effort on my part and this product delivers on that front.
Overall, I think this is a product to invest in, especially if you have super dry skin and/or you want to glimmer like a goddess. Oh and I now have my heart set on trying a few of the other scent flavors, especially "Dirty Cake", which apparently has a "just like cake" almond, honey, icing smell.
