#TestedWithLove: Bésame Cosmetics Mini Lipstick Set
I’ve always been in love with vintage-style clothing and beauty. I think there’s something so fun and mysterious when it comes to learning from cosmetic trends, products and methods from way back when. The moment I read our interview with the founder of Bésame Cosmetics, Gabriela Hernandez, I knew that this brand was a must-try for me.
After a few months of going back and forth on what to get, I finally decided to pull the trigger and place my order for the super adorable set of mini lipsticks.
I adored each shade in the set, which gave me a great range of reds, both bright and fun and dark and sophisticated and a beautiful rose and flattering brown-y color. I think that as a sampler for someone new to the brand, this is the perfect assortment of hues.
My favorite is 1946 Red Velvet, which is actually Gabriela’s go-to shade!
What I really adored about these lipsticks was its pretty dry formula. While most people want nourishing and hydrating lip products, if you wear bright reds on the daily like I do you’ll know that a drier formula is actually far superior. Dry formulas wear better throughout the day and actually stand a chance against the dreaded sip from a coffee cup.
While this is a lipstick and not a liquid lip, I was very impressed with the wear power of these lipsticks. They stayed put throughout the day and I only needed to reapply once (Maybe twice depending on what I ate.)
Another bonus for me is the shape of the Bésame lipsticks. I don’t like to mess around with multiple products when doing my daily lip color. The shape of these cuts out the need for a separate lip liner, since they are tapered to be skinny and flat at the top of the bullet. So, I’m able to line and fill in my lips with this one product.
Overall, I’m so impressed with my Bésame Cosmetics lipstick set and I’m already planning out my next purchase. I’m torn between the stunning 1945 American Beauty lipstick or any of the adorable products from their new Snow White launch.
