#TestedWithLove: Buff'd Cosmetics
I’ve recently been having really great skin days, courtesy of my new dedication to skin care. (Is it totally self-centered to say I’m really proud of myself?)
So, I’ve been spending a lot of time looking for the perfect lightweight foundation, just enough to even out my redness but not too much to be clogging my pores. I thought that tinted moisturizers and BB creams were the answer, but they always smell strange or like sunscreen and I still have to powder after applying the creams.
Luckily, I was given the opportunity to try out a few products from Buff’d Cosmetics and they have been the perfect solution to my everyday foundation needs!
The foundations, which I tried out in Neutral - Medium Light and Beige - Medium Light, were both really great weightless foundations. One thing I will say, is selecting the correct shade is pretty important because these foundations are pigmented.
They also offer a wide range of colors and have a guide on how to pick your best shade on their website. Even though both shades were considered “medium light”, one was definitely my perfect shade and one definitely was not. If you’re nervous about committing to a shade, they actually sell sample sizes, so that’s super convenient!
The foundations are pigmented enough to give you good coverage that will cover up redness and mild breakouts. The reason I really loved this mineral foundation is because it was a million times easier to touch up than a liquid foundation. Plus, it never left me feeling cakey; I’d just grab a little more powder on a small eyeshadow brush and buff it in on my trouble areas as needed.
The Velvet Matte Bronzer in Toast is the best contour shade that I own and I have literally used it every single day. It’s the perfect shade and texture to give a realistic, but emphasized, contour to your face. It’s a really shadow-y brown and does not have too much orange in it, unlike some bronzers.
It also meshed perfectly with the Satin Pearl Eyeshadow in Petunia, which I use as a gorgeous glowy blush.
Since it is a "satin" eyeshadow, it gives a really gorgeous shine, which I think makes highlighter unnecessary. I don’t personally like pink shades on my eyes, so this is my favorite way to wear Petunia. Both of the shades I tried, (Petunia and Bittersweet), were vibrant and silky smooth.
One thing that I really love about this brand is the “ingredients” tab on their website, which gives you a look at some of the "minerals and pigments, oils and waxes, and natural preservatives and fragrances" they use. Between this and their tips on how to apply products, this brand is really great at educating their customers.
They are also against testing out their products on animals. So really, what’s not to love about Buff’d Cosmetics?
