#TestedWithLove: Chloé Scents

I’m pretty picky about what perfumes I wear. I don’t like anything too overbearing, anything too flowery, anything too this, too that…I hate to go into lotion and body wash stores. It’s way too much sensory overload, as the salespeople stand at attention, ready to spray you and lure you in at every which direction. Stressful and counterproductive!

And lately, I feel like everything actually smells the same. Like there’s some generic “perfume smell,” and every company just tweaks it a little. I saw Britney Spears’ newest scent in a department store the other day and was excited, because as we all know, she’s a legend. Honestly, it was nothing special, which was disappointing.

I’ve been trying out quite a few of lately. Daisy by Marc Jacobs is my go-to, but I’m always on the hunt for something that I truly click with. I really love higher-end perfumes, just because I get such a nice feeling when I use them; everything feels so classy and grown up, what with the ornate, delicate bottles and sultry fragrances.

So, I decided to review and rate two perfumes by Chloé, a brand adored by many for its delightful perfumes.

1. Chloé Chloé

Chloé Chloé (‎$105/50 mL Eau de Parfum Spray-via Sephora)

Chloé Chloé (‎$105/50 mL Eau de Parfum Spray-via Sephora)

The first perfume is simply called "Chloé". I feel like this scent is somehow…diluted yet overwhelming, simultaneously. There is too much going on at once, a little chaotic. It’s strong for day-to-day wear, and in my opinion, doesn’t smell pleasant enough for anything fancier. It also wears off really quickly (which I didn’t mind because it made my nose burn and my eyes water). At a whopping $105, I really don’t think this scent is worth it.

2. Chloé Love Story

Chloé Love Story (‎$105/50 mL Eau de Parfum Spray-via Sephora)

Chloé Love Story (‎$105/50 mL Eau de Parfum Spray-via Sephora)

The second perfume is called Love Story by Chloé. I liked this one much better. It has such a light, floral scent. Very summery and the sweet scent is offset by notes of earthy smells. It makes me feel very clean and refreshed. It ideal for for dayto-day spritzing, in my opinion, as it subtly lingers on your skin all day!

I still haven’t found my perfect match, but Chloé seems like a pretty solid company when it comes to scents, since it has a wide range of pretty fragrances. Plus, I do recommend Love Story, so definitely pick up a small bottle during your next Sephora run!
