#TestedWithLove: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

Okay, I’m honestly so excited to be writing this right now because I really think I’ve found …the one. This is everything I’ve been looking for all my life; NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.

For real though, I’ve been looking for a good foundation or concealer with a light feel for everyday use. After going through many brands, I accepted that I would never find the right fit and figured that I should just settle for the least terrible one. Friends, listen up. Never settle. You will find the one you’re looking for. All your dreams will come true.

And believe me when I tell you that NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is an absolute dream. I was initially iffy about buying this because I thought the price was too high for its size. Now, I think the price is pretty affordable because a little bit of product goes a long way, so I’m not worried about running out too soon. This concealer comes in 16 pretty diverse shades.

The part that really impressed me was that there are multiple similar shades with different undertones. I love that so much! I have medium to dark brown skin with pink-red undertones. Most of the foundations and concealers for darker skin have gold undertones, which washes me out. So I chose the shade, “Café” which has warm red undertones.

I actually don’t like to wear much face makeup on a day-to-day basis. I just want to pop some under my eyes to cover dark circles and maybe use a bit on some very noticeable blemishes. This formula is excellent; when applied on my under eye (and remember to apply in a triangular shape so it looks more natural!), it not only covers the dark circles, but also brightens and widens my eyes for a more "awake" look.

I also used it on my blemishes and when I looked in the mirror, I didn’t look like I was wearing any makeup at all. This is because the concealer’s formula includes a mineral powder which corrects the blemish rather than cover up, thus leaving your skin looking natural. It also feels really light, not cakey like most concealers I’ve tried. For bigger occasions or days where you feel like covering up a bit more, the concealer is very build-able so you can layer on for the worst break outs and still look flawlessly natural.

Another thing I really like was the fact that the redder undertones gave my skin a pop of color without looking too flushed. This, plus its immaculate application and pigmentation and its ability to work in a bit of a glow (oh yeah, did I mention? The “radiance” works, giving you a “lit from within” look) gave me an overall healthy look. Something I’m not used to seeing this after long nights with friends, studying and binge watching TV until the sun comes up. But now you can tell your parents that you totally went to bed at a reasonable hour- because you’ll look like it!

The concealer is really versatile in how you can use it. As I mentioned before, you can use it for minimum coverage, or really go all out. But you can also use it as a contour (side note: check out my how to contour guide);  just grab a concealer in one shade darker than your skin tone and show off those cheekbones! You can even use it as an eye shadow if you’re really running out of time in the morning. It’ll brighten your eyes and act as a neutral shade.

For my under eye circles, I like to just dot it with the applicator, leave it on while I do some of my other makeup, and then blend it in with my fingers. The heat from my hands helps it blend in organically. I’ve also used a beauty blender and a normal face brush and both worked. I feel like this is the mark of a well made concealer- you don’t need to put in too much work or use any special tools. It just does its job!

It lasts for about 8 hours which I would say is a typical work day. Some concealers may boast that they last longer, but this one withstands all sorts of conditions. My friend sweats a lot and I mean a lot, but it didn’t run or smear at all. I got completely soaked on a water ride while wearing it and while my eyeliner came dripping down in a horrific, murder movie kinda way, the NARS concealer didn’t budge.

I can basically go on and on about how amazing this product is but I’m probably sounding borderline obsessive right now, so I’m going to end this here, urging you to get this A+ product.
