The Best Autumn Beauty Trends
Fall is by far my favorite season. As a figure skater, I spent a lot of time growing up in essentially a huge refrigerator so I hate the heat of summer. The second September 1st hits, I switch into fall mode whether it’s 100 degrees or not. But even more exciting than sweater weather and nice festive hot drinks, is the fashion and beauty that comes along with fall. Here are a few beauty trends that I look forward to every fall.
1. Purple Lipstick
On September 3rd, I wore Kat Von D Beauty Ever Lasting Liquid Lipstick in L.U.V. On September 4th, I wore Kat Von D Beauty Ever Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Wolvesmouth. And I could keep going on and on. Obsessed with purple lipstick for fall? Hell yes. I guess I am on the same page with Jamelia on this.
2. Coppers And Golds
Copper and gold eyeshadows are a classic fall staple that look beautiful on so many different eye colors. I personally love orange-y coppers or antique golds, but you can also try a brighter gold, rose gold or even red-based coppers. Gold is great for blue eyes, red-based coppers or rose golds for green and hazel eyes and brown eyes look equally lovely with basically any shade. Oh and these go well with purple lipstick. Doubling up!
3. Jewel Tones
Rich saturated jewels tones are a breath of fresh air after the bright spunky neons and light airy pastel shades that take over the summer. It doesn’t matter if it’s eyeliner, eyeshadow, nail color, lipstick or hair colors, the richer the color the better. Jewel tones have the opportunity to really flatter skin tones, in a way that neons and pastels just can’t. People assume that fall equals warm tones, but that’s not necessarily true. You don’t need to look like falling leaves! Deep blues, greens and blue based purples are all awesome colors for fall that flatter cool skin tones!
4. Embracing Pale Prettiness
I don’t tan, even in the middle of summer. My mother is a dark Filipina, so I can definitely get my tan on if I wanted to, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve found that I love being pale and porcelain (which, side note, Mariana knows all about).
Deep colors are at their most vibrant and stand out more against a paler background. Don’t spend a lot of money on artificial tan this fall and winter, it’s the perfect time to give your skin a break and embrace your natural skin color, you might just love it too!
Now go off and embrace all of autumn's greatest beauty gifts!
