The Best Ways To Fake A Mohawk

The Best Ways To Fake A Mohawk

Have you ever seen someone sporting a mohawk and wondered whether you could pull one off?

Well, you are lucky enough to live in a revolutionary, innovative world full of creative human beings that are willing to make things easier for you (praise tutorials!) and whose work I have rounded up for you to check out. Off we go!

1. Grunge Fauxhawk Hair Tutorial

This one is for all of you curly haired gals, although anyone can try it. You’ll just have to curl your hair beforehand like albinwonderland does in this video. This will help provide the volume necessary for the hairdo. Trust me, the end result is worth the effort. Plus, all you need is a comb, hairspray and lots of bobby pins.

2. Faux Hawk Short Hair Tutorial

You can totally fake a mohawk with short hair, as this tutorial from TheHaiRazorTV proves. Just make sure you have a hair straightener since it’ll be the main tool you’ll use for this one. This faux hawk is super duper do-able and cute. Lovvvvve it.

3. How To Short/Medium Hairstyle - Messy Faux Hawk Dutch Braid Tutorial

Another popular way of faking a mohawk is with a strategic dutch braid. While there are a LOT of tutorials for doing this, this one by Milabu explains the whole process really well. You can try this style with long hair and let the braid loose on the end, or if you’re more on the medium/short hair side (like she is here), you can tuck it in to create that full hawk look.

Psst! You should also take a look this other faux hawk tutorial from Milabu.

I hope you love these just as much as I did! I’ll certainly be trying some of these faux hawks out myself, and if you will too, make sure you show us on Twitter & Instagram.
