The Good, The Bad & The Ugly: Mascara Edition
Mascara is one of—if not the—most popular makeup product. Even my friends who seldom wear makeup have a favorite mascara.
Because mascara is so widely beloved, almost every brand has multiple formulas that work for different lash needs: volume, length, separation or they claim to do it all. With so many on the market it’s hard to know which are worth getting and which to avoid. But I have tested out a slew of them and have determined what the good, the bad and the ugly of the mascara world are.
This mascara claims to do it all and...it truly does. It adds volume, length, drama and it lasts all day while feeling soft and light on the lashes. The brush is great for the upper and lower lashes (just have to be a little more careful with the lower lashes). It doesn’t flake or smudge at all and the removal process isn’t too painful and time-consuming to apply. And now, if you’re more of a waterproof mascara kind of girl, there is now Better Than Sex Waterproof. It’s a little higher in price but it is completely worth the money. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.
This mascara attempted to make clumpy lashes "in" and it is sooooo obvious that this will not and should not catch on. Beyond purposefully making lashes clumpy, the formula flakes, smudges, is sticky and is difficult to remove. On top of that, the tube dries out quickly. Ugh all around. You (and your lashes) deserve better.
I feel like this is actually a staple for most makeup wearers. It is a great mascara that is affordable. It adds volume and length while still being soft on the lashes. The brush is great for both the top and bottom lashes. It doesn’t knock me off my feet like the Better Than Sex did, but it is still an amazing mascara that you can never go wrong with.
