Your brand is beloved by so, so many beauty gurus and celebrities. Why do you think it has been such a hit?
It’s simple...It’s a hit because, after trying so many products, they actually found products that are multifunctional and actually work. I work hard to make sure every formula does what it promises and leaves any head of hair healthier and shinier—without weighing down the hair.
Which of your products was the most difficult to perfect?
The Miracle Blow Dry Volumizer took me almost 3 years to totally perfect.
I wasn’t going to settle and it truly does deliver 10 times the volume and healthy, shiny hair.
Mind telling us a bit about your biggest hair faux pas? (Everyone has one, right?)
My biggest hair faux pas is when I wear my hair with my natural wave and don’t do much to it and think it actually looks good and then I see pictures of myself with it and think, "What was I thinking?!"
Even when you wear your hair in a more natural state it’s still needs some pre-grooming with brushes or combs and product to assist along the way as it dries naturally, possibly even a diffuser.
Don’t think that "natural-looking" hair actually gets there with zero work.
The "10 things" idea is just brilliant. When and where did the concept come to you?
The name “It’s a 10” was derived by the terms I use to gauge the quality of products; not settling until they are the very best. My previous partner presented the idea that they could do 10 things as well.
Anything else you'd like to add?
I’m excited about the new technologies that are coming out with in the hair product industry and beauty world. I’m looking forward to 2018 and bringing some exciting new things to the market!
