Winner, Winner: A Holiday Haul Review

Winner, Winner: A Holiday Haul Review

Hi, I’m Shriya and I’m a shopaholic.

God, it feels so good to finally admit that. I actually have a problem, guys. I can not, for the life of me, say no to a good deal on makeup. And the holiday time is one of the best times for crazy sales. I wish I could say I did a lot of shopping these past couple months for my loved ones, but … you can’t truly love anyone else until you love yourself, right?  (That’s what I tell myself to justify the hundreds of dollars I spend on makeup).

But it was worth it! I got so many amazing products, I couldn’t really narrow down which ones I wanted to review. But after some painstaking analysis, comparisons and swatches, I’ve chosen my top five holiday favorites.

1. Lime Crime Unicorn Diamond Crusher Lip Topper

This iridescent lip gloss is definitely my best purchase of 2017. You know it’s going be good because the first sentence of Lime Crime’s description for it says, “Wanna sparkle like a fairy on acid?” And honestly? Who doesn’t want that? So, there are 20 shades of these beautiful lip toppers for y’all to choose from, but you know I had to get "unicorn.”

It’s so pretty and shiny, and literally looks good on top of any lipstick color or worn alone! This gloss is so incredible. It’s nice for day to day wear when you just want a little shimmer to brighten up your day and it’s definitely great for parties.

2. Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara

I never had a "holy grail" mascara pick that every other beauty connoisseur seems to have. I just hadn’t found the right one yet. However, even though this mascara is a little pricey (but I think $26 is pretty good for a world-class designer brand), it definitely pays off in the end.

The wand has a slight hour glass shape to it which makes my eyelashes fan out like a doll. It also defines my bottom lashes amazingly well. And it does not clump at all! Stays on all day and looks natural, while adding both volume and length!

3. BH Cosmetics Wild at Heart Baked Eyeshadow Palette

I love, love, LOVE this palette. I want to go SWIMMING in this palette. I absolutely adore the shades in the kit because they’re super pigmented and shimmery. Sometimes I like to wear really bright eye colors, but most companies don’t make their bright shades pigmented enough for darker skinned people, unfortunately.

This palette shows up really well on my lids (and I have medium-dark skin), so I’m very impressed. Also, the color selections are really unique! I don’t usually see these shades being sold, so I had to get my hands on it.

4. Ardency Inn Modster Light-Catching Eye Powder In Teddy Boy

Um, this product does NOT have good reviews for whatever reason. I thought it was captivating, so I decided to take the risk and buy it anyway. And I really like it! Personally, I did not have any issues with it at all.

I opted for Teddy Boy, which is a kind of deep red shade. It has pearly pigmentations, which catch the light and make your eye lids look crystalized! It applies really smoothly and stays on all day, with great color pay off! I totally recommend this, actually.

5. Fenty Stunna Lip Paint

Of course, this is one of the best products to come out this year. Rihanna came through with a stunning red lipstick that literally morphs to look good on your skin tone (which is some crazy science-magic genius-ness). It has a nice, satiny texture that feels like you’re wearing nothing on your lips. This stays on all day—even while you’re sippin’ hot chocolate and kissing under the mistletoe.

 Here’s to a beautiful 2018.
