Winter Skin Prep Time: Because You Have To Be Ready
Winter brings with it many joys: the holidays, snow, tons of sugary sweets and several excuses to drink alcohol.
Alas, these joys come at a price—the healthy glow of your skin.
That being said, there are many ways in which we can all avoid dry, flaky winter-skin, the main ones being a) drink a lot of water, and b) moisturize, but there are many more creative things you can do to arm your skin against the less-than-friendly weather Below are a few tutorials I’ve rounded up that offer easy solutions to wintery skin that will keep you glowing through the coldest of seasons.
If you’re trying to take care of your skin on a budget, this tutorial is for you. Rachel from Polished lays out a few home remedies for your skin and few easily accessible products you can get from a local drug store, all affordable. I especially love the idea to use greek/plain yogurt as a hydrating mask. There is, however, a more elaborate solution in this video for your hands and feet—gel-lined gloves, anyone?…What’s that? No one has this?
Skip that one if you must, but don’t forget the sunscreen!
Not only does Jennifer Chiu give advice on what to do for your skin during the winter season, but she also dishes on what to avoid so that you’re not exacerbating the issue. She has similar advice to Rachel as far as hands and feet go, but I think Jennifer’s version is a bit more practical.
I love Ann Le’s tutorial. She offers a helpful tip for protecting all of winter’s main targets, from your face, to you lips, your body, your feet and even your hair! (Hint: her hair tip is probably the best—and funniest—advice I’ve ever seen in a beauty tutorial.) Check it out!
Hope these videos help y’all on your quest for healthy skin this holiday season!
